You have accomplished so much in that relatively short amount of time! No wonder you haven't been blogging. Looking forward to seeing examples of the photos on your blog.

Value for mine is likely less then $50, as it is a pretty common camera. My particular model was a Sears brand that competed with the Kodak brand in the years between 1912-1920.

Does yours have any brand names on it? Ebay is a good resource for finding a rough market value.

Thanks for reading!

I have camera like your old one with a leather case that also belonged to my grand father he got in germany when he served in the army. I was just wondering about the value? My passion is cameras love to take pictures. So I would never want to sell.

Thank you

Hey.

I think that being able to extract the mood of a live event as its happening is a fantastic skill, and I totally think that's one of your strengths. So don't underplay that.

What about trying "non-traditional" portraits? Look at shooting people as shooting their personality? Don't have them sit and stare at a camera, but have them bring a friend and have a conversation and catch the candid moments. Tell a couple of a family to just interact and forget that there's a camera. The pictures I like best of myself are the ones that capture that smile that I know is completely genuine, or the middle of a laugh. No-one has ever been able to get that from me in a "portrait session" but they've found it in times that I knew there was a camera, but wasn't "posing. Like http://www.flickr.com/photos/carries/4676383125/in/set-72157624219549008/ versus http://www.flickr.com/photos/carries/4676379593/in/set-72157624219549008/. Don't know if that helps any!

So sorry to hear of Dennis's passing Mike. I know you looked up to him and have seen him through your photos for years. He will be missed but a part of him will live on in you and in every person who has heard or seen him perform. Jayne
